GOOFIRM 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Report 2024

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) took place from November 25 to December 10, 2024. This annual campaign aimed to raise awareness, promote advocacy, and mobilize action to end violence against women and girls. This report summarizes the activities, achievements, and impact of the campaign.

The campaign launched with a high-profile event featuring speakers from government, NGOs, and survivor advocates. The event included a panel discussion on the importance of believing survivors and taking immediate action against GBV.

Workshops focused on educating participants about GBV, survivor rights, and available resources. Over 1,000 community members attended these sessions.

A radio program was aired to discuss GBV issues, featuring expert guests and survivor testimonies. The program reached an estimated 50,000 listeners.

A community march drew over 2,000 participants, raising awareness and solidarity against GBV. Participants carried banners and chanted slogans demanding an end to violence.

Engaged with local GBV centers to provide resources, clean facilities, and support service delivery. This activity enhanced the capacity of centers to support survivors effectively.

The campaign concluded with a ceremony celebrating achievements and reflecting on the importance of continued advocacy.
