GOOFIRM - March to ending violence against women, girls & children
On Day 3 of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, CSOs coordinated a vibrant and impactful march through key locations in the city of Limbe. This event aimed to raise awareness about #GBV and assert the collective demand for action and change.
The march was attended by a diverse group of participants, including activists, survivors, CSOs, government stakeholders, law enforcement, local leaders, students, and community members, all united by the common goal of ending GBV calling on local government and law enforcement to strengthen policies and resources for preventing and addressing GBV.
Participants carried banners and placards with powerful messages such as “We Say No to GBV.” “End Violence Against Women,” “My Body, My Rights,” and “Together We Can Stop GBV.” These visual elements amplified the message and drew attention from passersby.
Key speakers, including the SDO of Fako, local leaders and representatives from women’s organizations, addressed the crowd, sharing insights on the impact of GBV and the importance of community action.
By coming together as a community, participants demonstrated their commitment to ending violence against women, girls and children. The collective voices raised during the march not only raised awareness but also reinforced the urgent need for action, support, and systemic change to combat GBV in all its forms.
#GOOFIRM is steadfastly committed to ending violence against women, girls, and children. We recognize that violence in all its forms is a violation of human rights and has profound impacts on individuals, families, and communities.
