Empowering Women and Girls to manage their Menstrual Health confidently
We hold a strong commitment to fostering an equitable world where all girls are respected and given equal opportunities to thrive. We recognize that gender equality is not just a fundamental human right but also a prerequisite for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world. Girls’ health is paramount to their development and future success. We advocate for comprehensive health services, including menstrual health education, reproductive rights, and mental health support, ensuring that girls can manage their health with confidence.
The empowerment of girls is foundational for building a healthier, more equitable future. Central to this empowerment is the understanding and management of menstrual health and reproductive rights. By equipping girls with knowledge and resources, we can enable them to make informed decisions about their bodies, health, and futures.
A successful workshop focused on menstrual health was held in Moliwe Camp Field Limbe by Goofirm Foundation in collaboration with Royalty World, providing essential information and dignity kits to 36+ girls and 73+ women, ensuring that both adolescent girls and women have access to essential menstrual hygiene products. The event aimed to empower participants with knowledge about menstrual health while ensuring they have the necessary resources to manage their menstrual hygiene effectively. Dignity kits were donated to CBC nursery and primary school Moliwe, creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment where every girl can thrive where no girl will miss class due to menstruation. We recognize that menstruation is a natural part of life, yet many girls face barriers that prevent them from fully participating in their education during this time.
Empowering girls to manage their menstrual health confidently is a vital step toward ensuring their overall health and well-being. By providing comprehensive education, fostering open conversations, ensuring access to resources, and promoting positive attitudes, we can help girls navigate their menstrual health with confidence and dignity. This empowerment not only benefits the individuals but also contributes to healthier communities and societies as a whole. Participants reported a significant increase in their understanding of menstrual health, including proper hygiene practices and the importance of managing menstrual symptoms. Many participants expressed relief and gratitude for the opportunity to discuss menstruation openly, helping to reduce stigma and promote awareness.
The vision for the future of girls through menstrual health & reproductive rights is one of empowerment, education, & equality.
By addressing the challenges, they face and equipping them with the necessary knowledge and resources, we can help girls lead healthier lives and make informed choices about their futures. Together, we can break the cycle of stigma and create a world where every girl can thrive. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants, facilitators, and volunteers who contributed to the success of this workshop. Together, we can continue to empower individuals and promote better menstrual health practices within our communities.
Our commitment to an equitable world is unwavering. We envision a future where all girls are respected, empowered, and given equal opportunities to succeed. Together, we can make this vision a reality, ensuring that every girl has the chance to thrive and contribute to a better world.
